Principal areas of research are structural integrity and computational mechanics, with particular interest in ductile collapse of structures under static and cyclic loading.
Recent interests have included numerical simulation of welding processes and coupled-field or multi-physics analysis.
Publications include papers on:
pressure vessel design by analysis
limit and shakedown analysis
autofrettage
fracture mechanics
finite element formulation (displacement and mixed elements)
Current research projects include:
investigation of criteria of plastic collapse in pressure vessel design
pipeline variations
multi-physics modelling of welding processes
